On Friday 21 May the APPS Grades 4 to 7 girls participated in the annual school IsiZulu Fireside Tales.  Some of the special performances of the day included the Grade 6 girls’ gumboot dancing and the Grade 7 girls reciting Zulu, Afrikaans and English poems, they also sang and danced.  The APPS teachers enjoyed playing djembe drums, lead by Mama Ndaba, the APPS isiZulu teacher.  Grade 7 girls say they loved dressing up in cultural outfits and seeing the other grades’ unique performances.  The event ended on a high with the marimba girls playing marimbas.  We are so happy to have been able to participate in this fun event even though no parent or visitors could attend the function.  A special thank you to Mama Ndaba, Nontokozo Nkonde and all the members of staff who made this event possible.  We look forward to what else the girls and teachers have in store for us.
