Ash Wednesday Service at The Ridge School
In life you can choose to sing alone, to lead alone, to be alone but at APPS you can’t be alone even if you try.  That’s how I felt, singing in the APPS choir at the Ash Wednesday Service at The Ridge.  I felt like a choir, not a person.  I felt unity, pride and trust with the people around me that had worked just as hard as me.  I was honoured to give a reading on behalf of APPS.  Every year Miss Gericke and Miss Borthwick pass on their passion for music to the Choir.

St Mary’s Singing Sistas Choral Festival
When we arrived at St Mary‘s everybody was very excited. At 16:00 we started on our rehearsal and it took a long time to get everybody to sit down and keep quiet.  After singing some items, we learnt a beautiful song by the St Mary‘s Zulu teacher.  In about 45 minutes we knew the song off by heart with harmonies. We made so many new friends and heard amazing singing from the other two schools (St Andrews and St Peters).  I’m so glad that I was able to help perform in one of APPS’s pieces, ‘Baba Yeto’.  On the whole, we all had an amazing time, learnt new songs, made new friends and had a lot of fun!  I’m really sad that I won’t be able to participate in it next year.
